Golding appoints new head of institutional clients for insurance companies and pension funds

Wiebke Kuhne is the new head of the institutional sales team for the client segments insurance companies and pension funds at Golding Capital Partners, one of Europe’s leading independent asset managers for alternative investments. Born in Bremerhaven, she has worked in sales at Golding since 2012 and has some 20 years of experience in advisory and account management for institutional and semi-professional clients. She succeeds Marco Sedlmayr in the role. In addition, Golding was able to recruit another sales professional for this client segment in December 2022. Andreas Breme was previously at Mercer and joins as director the team that is to see further new hires in the months ahead.

Wiebke Kuhne has been advising institutional investors at Golding for more than ten years and was most recently responsible for occupational pension funds in Germany. She previously spent ten years at UniCredit Group, where she was responsible for advising high net worth individuals. She has a university degree in business studies and specialised in banking and financial management.

“Achieving the specific objectives of institutional clients for their capital investments requires a profound understanding of the requirements and regulations that apply to our individual investors, as well as excellent knowledge of the trends and developments on capital markets. Wiebke Kuhne is highly qualified for this role thanks to her long-standing experience and expertise. It is a tribute to the outstanding expertise in the team that we were able to fill this key position internally”, said Hubertus Theile-Ochel, Managing Partner at Golding.

“I am looking forward to tackling the exciting tasks ahead together with my team. The market environment will certainly not be any less of a challenge in 2023. We intend to work closely and personally with our individual investors to devise the best bespoke solutions for them. That relates to the long-term, strategic risk-return profile, of course, but also to agile responses to new market developments”, says Wiebke Kuhne on her new position as sales head.

Competence in the investor segment of insurance companies and pension funds was given an additional boost last December with the appointment of Andreas Breme. As Director Institutional Clients the 38-year-old will primarily be advising insurance companies and sector-specific pension schemes. Breme previously spent 13 years as an investment consultant at Mercer. He has a degree in financial mathematics and is a certified financial analyst (CFA).
